Ann Dillard

Educational Trainer and Consultant

President, K.I.P. Consulting Services, LLC

Founder and Chair of Project Safety Nets, Inc.

 My philosophy of teaching evolved from many years of working with parents, young people, being trained on many curriculums and my teaching experiences. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding teaching and learning, I find that my mission as an instructor is threefold:

  • to promote positive learning were every person feels safe to express and explore;

  • to spark enthusiasm in every person by providing a different perspective;

  • and to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning as well as relationship building.

To accomplish this, I enjoy applying a wide variety of strategies based on essential educational principles encompassing cognitive functioning, learning theory, and life experiences that offers diverse cultural perspectives.

I have had the opportunity to demonstrate these approaches serving in the capacities of:

  • Developer of Write The Vision—Premiered in 2010

  • Program developer for P-GEMS—Precious Girls Empowered to Mature Successfully; for which I received the Who’s Who Community Leadership Award from Bethel University

  • The Choice Is Yours—Student Support and Family Involvement Specialist

  • Consultant for Girls in Action—youth empowerment component of the Power of People Institute

  • Developer of the personal development and mentorship programs

  • Sought after cultural diversity trainer.

I also enjoy the global component of my work which led me to start a non-profit organization called Project Safety Nets where we empower residents of underserved communities in Senegal, West Africa while fighting against malaria. Over the past eight years, I have taken as many mission trips back to the same region of Africa as well as participated in relief efforts for other countries. I have partnered with multiple individuals and organizations to provide resources that help bring hope to the people of this developing country and to save lives.

Having served as the president of the Rotary Club of Plymouth and Special Representative to the newly established Rotary Club of North Minneapolis provided the perfect outlet to practice my philosophy of service above self.

I am a graduate of DeVry University, Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Operations and from Argosy University/Twin Cities, with my Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I recently gained employment as the school linked mental health therapist for Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-Being located full time at Columbia Academy in Columbia Heights where I serves students and families from grades 6-8.  I am also the owner of K.I.P. Consulting Services where we offer educational training and consulting while sharing knowledge and strategies that empower others to reach their goals.  As a member of Shiloh Temple International Ministries in Minneapolis, MN, my husband of 26 years, Min. Joseph Dillard and I serve as Christian Education instructors. We are blessed with three wonderful children, Monisha (25), Joseph, Jr. (23), and Aaron (17). We enjoy being residents of Robbinsdale, MN.

The best and most important parts of this work are impacting children and families in the community and around the world, by empowering learners and having the opportunity to establish new relationships.  Knowledge is power and the possibilities are endless.
